Another name (brand) is Southco. I have a few about 1" long, 1/4" diam. The head is low profile, straight screwdriver slot, the 'pin' end is formed sort of like a T. They come in different lengths and are used a lot for access panels on electrical boxes and other equipment. I don't remember seeing any that can be opened with fingers. One might be able to modify the fastner by brazing a finger tab in the screwdriver slot. Try an industrial electrical distributor. Another company called Fastenal might have what you need.

Did you try Bill Bickel at 785-484-2288?

I haven't seen any 300 side panel fasteners for some time but don't remember seeing any Dzus that match. You need an access panel fastener similar in appearance to a spade head thumb screw with smooth shank (not threaded) and with a roll or round pin near the end of the shank that matches the slot in your latch.

For whatever it's worth: Case 300 series parts manual (R.I. A324) Dtd 1-59, page 86. 1) G10844 Stud-fastener, wing head, side panel door. 2) G10845 washer-retainer, fastener stud.

The washer is rubber, fits on the stud, and acts as chaff protection and tensioner
