I have a Case VC that has no spark. It ran 2 years ago when I bought it, has been sitting outside since then. It has been converted to 12 volts and has an external coil and resistor. The coil inside the magneeto(American Bosch) has been removed. I filed and cleaned the magneeto pts, checked for grounded coil, tried a different coil.
not sure what to do next. any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I know it sounds dumb but try this.....

Make sure your on/off switch is passing electric through it. The toggle switch I was/am using on my dash goes bad from time to time and with no electric passing through it, there is no spark resulting then in replacing it. Give that a try, it should work.

By the way, I too own a "VC" but mine is a 1942.

Let me know if there is something you are having a problem with.

Good luck!

-Brad

you may want to try a distributor instead. they seem to work better than the old mags. you may be able to get one from an old massey 101 junior or a combine. they used the old continental flat-head too.

Alberta Mike has a V w/that choice to make too if you can find his name on a post, give him an e-mail or something. he can help you.
