Howdy Again, Here is another bit of the VA lot I picked up. I have two different wide front ends. Any ideas as to their differences? Dimensionally differences are noted in picture.

Thanks Again!
Marc

the one solid bar front axle sounds like its from a VAI, the other may be a standard axle for a VAO, VAC, or a plain old VA. and like Bill says, Case changed up many times during production. they produced tractors based on whatever parts were lying on the floor that day. when they ran out of VAC row crop axles they produced VACs w/ standard axles. when they ran out of long steering shafts, they made VAOs w/ short steering shafts, when they ran out of 28" rear tires they made VAIs w/ 24" rear tires, and so on.

hope this helps

The VAI had three different wide axles depending on the tractor serial number. It appears that the widest was before serial # 5265953, part # VTA-2735, after serial # 5658074 there was an arch in the center of the axle.
