I am going to re-ring and do a valve job on the 25/45 Crossmotor. I can feel[ low comp. at the crank] and hear a bad valve. This engine is a 5 1/2 inch bore, and has a 6 3/4 stoke. I order all the parts I needed with two phone calls. Hoping he the valve will grind though.

Don,
If that valve doesn't grind and you don't find one

they are repairable with fusible powder and a spray
torch. If you don't find someone local ,holler and
I'll do it .

I will be working at my buddies new shop. Mine is to small and full of junk. Ain;t fit a tractor in it fer years. Could do it at the [40x 100] quanny huts, but I will need to have an extra set of hannies to help out any way. I hope it goes quick ,could cost more in beer than the 2 phone call of parts I gots acomin. Workin by my lonesome I swear real good, but within a another, i will keep it to the basic ones. Unless he drops the mannyfold or somthin, den it's *&$*^@(&_!-$$(!#&** time. Do you yahoo? Don L

Don-

Be sure and take some pictures of the proceedure, please.

I've only seen a few crossmotors- and have darn sure never seen the inside of one. Maybe someday Baggsy will show us his 12-20.

Just out of curiousity- where were you able to order 80 year old tractor parts from with a phone call?

I didn't think of takin some pics, but I will. It took my "two" phone calls to get all the gaskets and rings, even ordered a new float fer the carb, just cause I found one. That carb is a pic by itself, and that manifold my go close to 100 lbs. yes you are right, take a few photos. No kiss and tell where this northern hillbilly gets his parts. Not even the YT police could get it out of me.....! Later
