SC loader- holes under radiator or square cult. holes?

I just bought an old straight trip type front end loader for my SC that was made for a Farmall H/M. Someone told me that the SC and H are about the same size tractor so I purchased the loader for just $100 hoping to modify it to fit my SC.

First of all, it looks a foot or two longer than my SC- is the Farmall H really that much longer?

Secondly- I'll need to weld up a bracket to bolt onto the front of my my SC to adapt the front barcket that is currently on the loader.

Would the square cultivator holes on either side of the radiator be able to support the weight of a front end loader?

Or would the three holes on the bottom of the front end directly below the radiator be the best place to mount the bracket?

Thanks in advance

Thanks to everyone for their input!

I was hoping the cultivator brackets would be strong enough to use for supporting the front end of the loader.

After I get it mounted, the next step will be to add live hydraulics- I can't imagine trying to use non-live PTO hydraulics with a loader- that would be a lot of shifting in and out of gear.

We added live hyd on a SC by installing a pump between the mag and the engine. The pump was off SP12 case combine. Also added power steering unit off IH tractor. Sure made it a better loader tractor. Good luck

I recall seeing a photo of a Case SC with loader on the Internet that used the cultivator holes to support the weight of the loader. I'm not sure that it was a factory made loader though.

My Case model 151 loader mounts to the cultivator mounts on my '51 SC, so modifying a different loader should not be a concern. We had a Farmhand loader on our '53 DC-4 when I was a kid and it also used the front as a mounting point. DO a search in the photos of Case tractors section and you'll find pics of both tractors.

Yep, that's the way I bought it! THe original bucket was much smaller, someone used 1/8" plate welded on to it to extend it. Having tried to steer the beast (admittedly, with two low front tires) with that monster EMPTY I'd had to try it full of wet snow!

ANyhow, the loader was removed right after this photo was taken so the SC could be in a garage for what is likely the first time in it's life.

BTW, thanks for linking the shot Mike!

Just as a bit of information, the 150 pound weight below and in front of the SC's radiator is easly removed if you need to reduce the front end weight.

And by the way thanks to Butch Kieper (did I spell that correctly) of Seville, Ohio for ID'ing the loader for me and on top of that making copies of the ORIGINAL owners and parts manuals and sending them to me for nothing!

We've got one just like the one you have in the picture. Sure would like to have a copy of the manual! Planning on mounting it on my '54 SC w/live hydraulics & using internal hydraulics to run it, rather than the Charlynn pump that came with it. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
