Hey Guys
Need to pick your brain,I picked up a 5-14 plow yesterday, and my brother thought it might be a model CTH? If it is, when did J.I. Case start building them and when did they quit.It looks like a 60's vintage, but could be 50's? Thought it would be a good plow for my "LA"

I think you mean CHT, the CHA & CHT's were built in the 60's. CHT's had the individual trip mechanism for each bottom where the CHA's had a trip on the hitch.

Hi Roger
Thanks for the comeback!Do you know the model of the plow for the "LA" Days? You know the 40"s to 50"s,my tractor is a 49. Do you feel the 5-14" will give the "LA" a workout?

5-14s will definetly give your LA a work out. These wee strong old beasts, but our 65 hp 830 dual range pulled the 5 bottom 3pt Case plow (Model unknown) well. The 51 hp LA will probably struggle a little unless you have sandy soil. We pulled an 18' AC turning plow with our old LA in central Texas blackland.

I"m thinking the same thing, and still wondering what plow(Case Plow Model) would be vintage for the 49 LA,I bet a 4 bottom would be good on her, cause we are in the Red River Valley of North Dakota. Thanks for your thoughts too
