I think the L is just a well ordered L. The seat back was available along with the rice tires on the rear and the electric start was available also. It was the transition to the LA and I would say that the casting numbers on the engine are the same as a LA. I am surprised that it didn't have a 4 speed also. Most of the options on that one is what came on the LI like the seat back. The lights are almost right. There should be one on each fender. One pointing forward and one pointing rear. Any Case unstyled tractor with electric start should be considered rare because they are rare. Again that you usually only find electric start in the industrial models. I beleive the option on the tires were 26" or 30" and yours looks to be 30" rice tires made for wet areas. The paint could also be original. The date for red was 1939 but there were some 1938 models painted Flambeau. There may have been some painted Flambeau before that.

Thanks CASEPOWER,

I bought it this morning. Plan on having it to my place this Wednesday.

Thanks again to you and everyone that commented on my question. I'm sure I will have more! :-)
