I have found an L case. The serial number is 317231. What year does this make this tractor. It has a hand clutch and a PTO. There is not a dent on it and it turns over. The rubber looks brand new on the back and the front hold air. The guy has had the gas tank cleaned out and the mag. has been gone through. Manifold appears to be in excellent shape. Is it worth $850?

I'd jump on it with both feet if I could.

If as described, it is a "nobrainer" to buy it. Fella called this am wanting me to buy a fixer upper LA for $1200 600 miles away. A cat in a sack. I did not have any interest.

We sold one for 300 that was in alot rougher condition. That sounds like a great buy.

For the 6 digit serial number take first and fourth digit and subtract 3. For 317231 year is 32-3=29; first year of production.

If I had the opportunity, I would buy it!

I know that it is a different market here, but I bought a straight, one family owned 1938 L (on steels) at a farm clearing sale in December for Aust$1800 (about US$900) and I thought I got a reasonable deal.
