I am having some problems with the pto clutch on my 68 Case 1030. I am trying to adjust it according to the manual but not having much luck. The manual says to remove the cover on the right side of the transmission housing, pull the locking pin out, and turn the adjustment collar until the pin pops back into place. I can't seem to locate the pin or know which way to turn the collar when I do find the pin. Any help would be much appreciated. Brian

Do you have the adjusting tool that came with the tractor? It has a 90 degree hook on one end and a y on the other. You pull the pin out with the y,you have to roll the collar around till you find the pin, there are holes the hook goes in and I think you rotate it counter clockwise 1 hole at a time checking clutch action at each hole till it feels right.Been about 30yrs. since I did one so direction may be wrong ,but you can tell that by the clutck snap.hope I haven't confused you.

The IT Manual I have tells you how to adjust the clucth for both early models and late models. I don't know what they consider to be an early or late model. I am assuming that mine is a late model judging by the pictures in the manual. For clutch adjustment on the early models, it says you need a special tool, but it doesn't say anything about a tool for the late model. Do you think you are talking about an early model, possibly? I guess I should just spring for a manual for it. Thought maybe I could get away with a qick answer. Gotta get rid of this snow in the northeast. Need the snowblower to run smooth.

You can use a screw driver in place of the tool ,rotate the pto shaft by hand tii you see the lock pin then work it out and try rotating shaft counterclockwise one hole at a time.Mine was a 68 or 69 1030,was awestern style but I think the pto's are the same. good luck.
