If anyone has a wiring diagram for an 1816 uniloader I would be grateful for any info. I have a charging problem and don't know where to start. If the starter works ok does that mean the charging end of the generator is ok? Thanks for any help. Buckeye.

If you have a standard 1816 with the OH160 Tecumseh, the alternator is behind the flywheel and there should be a rectifier/regulator mounted on the flywheel cover. First check to see if yo have 28vac at the rectifier.regulator, if not, pull the flywheel and check the stator. If you have 28vac, then its the rectifier/regulator.

Max, I have a 16 horse Kohler with a starter/generator, belt driven. Starts fine but doesn't charge, maybe brush needs replaced. Thanks for the help. Buckeye.
