Hi. I often see Case L and C tractors with the name Case embossed on the hood side, yet many others do not have the raised letters. Was this raised lettering particular to certain year's of production, if so, which years.? Your comments would be much appreciated.
Thank's.

I don't pretend to be an expert on these at all but heres what I either know or am told about the embossing on the hoods.

I know I have never seen a C or CC that didn't have the bood embossed. I have a 34 C and it is embossed.

I have been told that only the early production 29 Ls had plain hoods. Late in 29 the hoods were embossed and continued through L production.

I have a 29 L with the plain hood and it is very different from the 34 C hood besides size. It seems like its made from a thinner much flimsier steel and the bends along the sides where it transitions from the top to side surface has wrinkles in the metal from forming during manufacturing. Althouh its kinda crudely made, I'm sure its the proper 29 hood. The Cs hood bends and assembly are very smooth by comparison.

I believe that in 1934 they went to the raised or stamped name instead of the decal, like they used from 1929.
