Bought a DC-3 and plan to haul it on a trailer. Where or what is the best way to tie it to the trailer? Run the chain over the axles? How about through the front end? What do you all do? I'll be hauling it about 700 miles. Thanks!

For the front end, I like to run a clevis pin through the holes where the DC-4 axle would mount
under the casting the radiator sits on.
At the back, I usually just throw the chain over the drawbar and then put in a twist; however, sometimes, I go around each rail of the drawbar circle. I hauled a DH clear to Illinois and had
no trouble.
I didn't see you at Choteau last fall, but I could have missed you.

I like to chain through the drawbar and out to each side a foot or two behind the tires. Then go around the front steering bolster above the tires and forward to both sides. Just for safty it is a good idea to put a third chain somewhere. Through the rear wheels is pretty secure, won't keep the tractor from rocking but will keep it on the trailer if one of the other chains fails.
