John S. gave me a number 9-75302 for a Case 430 service manual. My dealer said his book shows that is for the engine only, and that they didn't show a manual for the whole tractor, I'm going to buy it but is there a good manual for the entire tractor? I'm getting ready to do my brakes and thought I should have a good manual in hand before I get started.

Craig; My book is an older book and says that number is for a tractor service manual. If indeed it is for the engine only, I would suggest an "I-T" service manual. Your dealer should be able to get you one. Good luck John.

John, I think I'll buy the manual anyway. It may be for the whole tractor and maybe just a typo in his book. Whatever the case(pun intended) I would like to have the case publication. If it doesn't cover the whole thing then I'll buy the IT. I drove my tractor today for the first time since I picked it up. I love it.I put new radiator hoses on, and changed the oil and filter. That tractor will go faster than I want to go. I'll put brakes on as soon as I get my manual. Let me know when you get email.

Craig; Glad to hear your enjoying that "430". They're a great tractor. What year is yours? Gas or diesel? Eagle Hitch or Cat 1? Direct drive? I wish I knew as much about computers as I do CASE, don't know when we'll get email back. Good luck John.

John, Its a 1965 Diesel with a Cat 1. Its a triple range and has a hand clutch. I'm not sure what a direct drive is. I'll put a picture on the ytmag page and you can see it.

Craig; I meant direct drive, which yours is as compared to Case o Matic. I have a 351 with the same transmission as yours. Love that road gear. John
