I have a Case 900,1957 with the hand clutch,my question is,does the oil for the clutch come from the engin, or, trans.,or do you have to put oil in the clutch housing,I have been getting different answers on this and would like to know what is the correct answer,Thank you

John is exactly right, there is a drilled passage in the crankshaft that feeds oil from the rear main bearing to the clutch to oil it. Look inside the housing sometime, it will be the cleanest clutch you will ever see. I've got a '63 930 LP with the hand clutch & I've never felt a smoother engaging clutch anywhere, I wish my Farmall M was that smooth..... ...Roger

900 man; This is the straight facts that you can go to the bank with. Engine oil is constantly flushing thru the clutch housing, changing itself. When you drain the crankcase, drain the clutch housing. When you fill the crankcase after a change, add about an extra quart. Good luck
