I have a 1951 Case VAC which runs great, the eagle hitch works good but my problem is that hydraulic oil leaks into the motor oil which overfills the crankcase. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Bob,
I had the same thing happen on my dads Vac. You can take the seal number to a bearing and seal shop or napa and they can match it. If you can not find the seal number I'll try to find the box with the seal number.

Jerry,
Thank you for that information. I don't know how difficult it will be to get this seal. If you find
the seal number let me know. If you can't I can check the nearest CaseIH dealer. There is a NAPA close so I can also check with them. Thanks again. Bob

Make sure that the torque tube (used as reservoir for the hydraulic system) is not plugged or you may have a repeat performance. The Case seal # is: 04244-AB according to Case "VA Series Tractor & Engine Service Manual (Rac 258)".

That should read "Make sure that the VENT ON THE torque tube is not plugged" (been a fast day, all around!!).

Hi Bob, is the pump mounted on the right front side of the engine? Sounds like a pump shaft seal leak into the engine gear train. Joe

Joe, Thanks for your reply. The pump is on right side front.I'll try to find a seal to replace it and see if that works.
