A coworker told me he replaced a stater drive on his sc case and now it turns the engine backwards, So this morning I took a starter off one of my sc"s and drove over to see him and prove that he had gotten the wrong starter drive and had put it on.Well he was right it is the right starter drive but now his starter turns in the wrong direction. how could this happen as he didn,t even disconnected the battery when he took the starter off? what does he have to do to get his starter to turn the correct rotation? thanks Bill

Bill check to see if your friend is using a positive ground on the SC. As I am sure you know Case SC are negative ground electrical systems contrary to most 6 volt tractor systems.

The battery is grounded correct. We took his starter off and jumped with booster cables both ways as pos and neg ground and doesn't matter still turns backwards. I put my starter on to get him going. I have never seen this before. Thanks Bill

Somebody turned the commutator end head a 1/4 turn from where it's supposed to be!
