Hi guy's, I have a 42 VC and need to get a sediment bowl, distributor cap, and rotor. Problem of this is no one seems to carry them. I have looked all over. Went to farm and fleeet and they don't carry sediment bowls for Case tractors. I found a tune up kit that fit "all Case tractors w/ autolite distributor" But it still didn't work. I twas made for the later models with bigger distributors.

Mike, do you have a sediment bowl for sale? I really need one, thanks.

Thanks for any help! -Brad

Unless you are restoring the VC for show I'd use a simple globe valve with a see-through filter between the valve and the carburetor. This setup is more reliable and leakproof than the sediment bowl and valve. I use the small snowmobile/ATV 1/4" in/out filters. They are cheap, compact and easy to backflush with commpressed air or, if reversed in the field, easy to clear with a bit of flow from the gas tank.

If you REALLY want the sediment bowl setup I have some used ones (maybe new also) and, I think, some new parts (screen, gasket, bowl) for the VA series if that helps.

A sediment bowl for an Allis might work.
I don't know about the VC, but the sediment assembly on an SC is the same as that on an Allis WD (small bowl).

Would these items still be available through a local Case/IH dealer? Might be worth a try. I've had good luck getting odds and end for my SC through there.

Hi Brad,

You must have me confused with somebody else- I don't sell any parts... I just try to collect them in order to put my piles of junk back together! (grin)

I don't know anything about the "V" series tractors, and all of my tractors have magneto ignition, so I don't have any distributor advice to give you, either.

Dave Reed at Otto Gas Engine works sells sediment/strainer bowls listed for the L & LA series tractors... but I don't see anything listed for the VC. You might give him a call and see if he can help you.

Thanks guys, I will let you know what happens. I plan to show it, but have no problem with it not being "perfect" I am only 16 and just don't have the funds to do so. The tractor will be used for small work as I usuall run the 300 with loader, 400 to mow, 1070 to disk or 2390 to chisel for my grandfather. He runs Case machines so I am surely hooked! I want to restore his 400 next, then the 300 then MAYBE the SC, it has a posthole digger on it and I take it out once a year to fire her up, bit rough but it smooths out nice, why,,,, because it is a CASE!! Have a good one guys! -Brad

P.S. - there's no "L" in my last name. (grin)
