does the engine have a glow plug / pre-heater with a fuel line going to it at the inlet manifold? If everything else has been repaired properly this could be the problem - the inlet manifold will be wet inside - plug up the fuel line to stop oil dilution - cheers

CASEPOWER--whip--Jeb Mccranie, Thanks for the reply,, Let me tell you what my situation is--- I bought a David Brown, 1200, deisel from some people and they said they have had the injectors repaired and a new injector pump and new lift pump installed,(they did the work) The tractor starts and runs like a new one, does not miss or anything, but gets deisel in the oil..Is it possible it can be way out of time and cause this problem??? thanks for the input...LW

I don't think the timing would cause it if it is running good without exess full smoke. If the pump is like most it has a double seal were the drive goes in and it is very easy to mess up when installing.

CASEPOWER--The DB smokes, lots of white smoke.. When I hauled it to the farm, about 35 miles, I left it idleing on the way to charge the battery.. When I got to the farm, desiel was coming out of the exhaust manifold..Deisel was all over the tractor from the leaking, had to be getting on top of piston or pistons, don't know..I ask a man at Abilene Injector Service why it was leaking deisel and he is the one that told me about the timing thing.. I just hate to get lead on that way without knowing..Thanks for any help I can get..LW

The fist two things I would check would be the seal on the drive shaft of the injector pump. The other thing is if it has a transfer pump on the engine the diaphram could be bad..

LW,
I am not sure what you are working on ,but here are a few ways diesel fuel can get in the motor oil. You could have a lift pump that has a leak in the diaphragm that leaks into crank case. You could have the injector pump that has a seal out of it. Also you may have a bad cylinder and injector not work correctly

I have seen some bulldozers that were so worn out that fuel would slip past the piston rings ans get in the crankcase. An injector that is blown can do the same thing.
