I just bought our first tractor it is a Case 830 CK. I was fortunate that it is in pretty good working condition. I have no experience with tractors, however I are somewhat mechanically inclined. What manual would be the best to try to purchase? I am looking for something that has a trouble shooting guide in it. I have a "Shop Manual" for Series 730, 830, 930 and 1030, that is informative however looking for something to help pinpoint problems.

Take the serial # of your 830 down to the dealer and order the right owner/op manual. It has all the basic info you'll eventually need, plus a trouble shooting guide that covers the basics.

We owned and farmed with 2 of these tractors. I think they were both 1965's. They were both gas. They were two of the most worry free tractors.Always started and hardly ever had to work on them.Pulled 4-16 plows in any soil.Would lug down and recover like an old 2cyl, John Deere.Low rpm, high torque 4 cyl. really did the job for us. Dad sold them both in the early '90s when quit farming. We paid $3500 ea for them back in 1971. Good luck with yours, you picked a good one!
