I was up at the cottage moving some top soil this weekend, with my 1950 S, and all of the sudden water started pouring out of my rear tire (calcium)!!
My rim has rusted out near the valve stem and I sprung a leak, over the years I have noticed some flaking around that area, even when I bought the tractor 5 years ago the flaking was going on!
Now I can weld a patch over this area and purchase a new tube and I will be on my way
or I can purchase a used rim at a local tractor scrap yard for $200.00 CAN, I was wondering if the price for a used rim was in line?
any suggestions

Thanx
Cold Canadian

For the savings, I patched the rear rim on my 401 that did about the same thing. I found steel about the same thickness, welded it in, drilled the stem hole, filed everything smooth, and painted it for good measure. Total cost: just the time to beat the tire off the rim and buy a new tube. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but that's just my two cents.
