Does anyone have an idea of where I can find a 3 & 7/8 inch sleeve puller? I cannot find one anywhere. Also, while I have the engine tore down should I go ahead & buy 4" pistons & sleeves to get more power???

You can build a puller very easy. Email me at [email protected] and I'll explain. As for the 4 inch pistons, I have had several D series tractors and with both pistons. The 4 inch is an improvement over the 3 7\8. Expecially if the 3 7\8 is the low top distilled fuel pistons. The taller 4 inch will have a much greater effect. But I feel the head gives the best improvment. Case offered 4 heads for these tractors. That is where I would put my money. My 2cents...

THREE YEARS AGO I GOT A NEW SET OF SLEEVES AND PISTONS FROM CASE-IH. THE FOUR INCH ONES WERE THE ONLY ONES I COULD GET. YOU WILL GET MORE POWER AND REDUCE YOUR BEARING LOAD DUE TO THE ALUMINUM PISTONS WEIGHING LESS. MY '51 DC RUNS FINE WITH 4'S. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE BUT WHAT ISN'T?
