Case 631 Diesel w/ Caseomatic starts fine and runs good for a few minutes, then it starts losing power. Thought it was filters, so the fuel and oil filters were changed but still have the problem. Is it injectors, or is there something else that I'm missing? Thanks for any help on this!

I have a 1940's model Case tractor. 4 cylinder gas motor. While my brother-in-law was bushhogging it got slower until it would not pull itself. He told me that the tractor was not smoking when this happened. Air & gas filters have been replaced. Still no power. Could this be a burnt valve?

It might be a plugged fuel return line. Take the fitting out of the top of the pump, running it with the fuel spilling out the top of the pump for a while to see if there's a difference. There's a check ball in the fitting coming out of the pump that gets plugged.

butch is right also want to check those eastman connector on the injector returns. I've had those break down over the years and little pieces plug the return line. I'd take it loose at the tank first and see what kind of return i was getting

Sounds like internal engine problems. Do compression test.

If it smokes heavily at start up(black smoke) and clears up after the engine gets warmed up it might be an injector.
