I have added a hydraulic pump to my 52' VAIW that runs of the cam gear. the pump came from, I think, a model year newer combine. the pump works fine now. The problem is it has the high pressure inlet and outlet and also the power steering inlet and outlet. I don't need the power steering connections. currently i am running lines into and outof the resoivor. I would like to simplify the plumbing and remove these lines. Does anyone know if i can loop from one port to another or a way to disable this part of the pump and plug the holes?

You might remove the gears, fill with oil and plug.
I use the same pump, the powersteering side for 3-point and the other side for remote.

Geo, How do you have the power steering side plumbed thru your 3-point? Is it a closed circuit? By that I mean do you go from the pump thru your three point control to your 3-point cylinder back to the pump? or do you have to also draw from the supply tank on this side? I would like to find a diagram of the pump or of the original circuits it was used in, that would make this easier to understand.
