Hello! I saw some photos of a Case 430 a guy has for sale. It has a diesel engine, Eagle Hitch, and I'm assuming a 4 speed transmission (since it doesn't say Case-o-matic or Tripl-Range on the side of the hood. My 1965 has regular 3 point hitch, so I'm assuming that this one is older than mine. The weird thing is the serial number. He took a picture of the serial number plate and the number is "2022040" which doesn't seem to match any numbers I can find on this site. Is it possible that this tractor used a different number scheme? Or is it possible that the guy took a picture of some other tag and said it was for the 430? Another question - given that the hourmeter and gauges don't work, but that it runs and the pto and hydraulics work, plus it has one newer rear tire, what is this thing worth? Thanks for your time!

To the point you made about it not have triple range on the side of the hood - My Case 430 has a triple range but it's not anywhere on the hood. Correct me if I'm worng, but I don't think they put that on.

Lee, the 2022040 will be on the engine serial nr plate. Tractor serial nr plate is on the dash tag.

Here is an example on an ebay auction tractor.
