The impeller has two 5/16-18 tapped holes in the face. The center shaft has a centering dimple. Should I make a little puller and pull the impeller from the shaft. Has anyone fabricated new seal rings and if so, what material?

I went through that same thing with my 41 SC. I used a steering-wheel puller to pull my propeller. When I got it off I found that my shaft was pitted beyond repair. I couldn't find a kit anywhere so I called our local Case-International dealership and they could get the seal and the shaft seperately. They told me that the seal would cost around $50 and the shaft would cost about $80. Now that didn't come with the brass bushing or the seal cage. We figured it was just cheaper to get a rebuilt water pump.

Hope this helps.

Now there might be people who have NOS part kits that should come with everything.

Thanks for info I have had a terible time getting parts for my 1949 SC case. I have a leaking seal on the water pump. My local case dealer has no interrest in helping me locate parts. Can u offer any suggestions on other parts suppliers.

Thanks Richard Burris
