Just wondering if there is any way to adjust hydraulic pressure on a david brown 885? The lift on it will work really slow at idle, after checking the pressure at a remote noticed holding just about 500 psi at idle and 1400psi at 2200rpm . any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bobby T

I would say your pump is likely worn out. Remove the pto housing and grab the gear on the pump and see if there is up and down movement. That will tell you alot whether it is wore out or not. Be sure to remove the hydraulic light switch manifold from the bottom of the pto housing or you will shear it off.

Not tore it down yet but wondering if any one knows a good place to get a pump? Are they a gear or vane pump.Rebuildable maybe?

I have a pump in stock, they are a gear pump. Send me your address and i can quote you a price and postage. The relief valve is on the top of the hydraulic pump, they usually don't give trouble. My computer is acting up so in case you can't get an email through to me my phone number is 519 363 2663.

Check the bore in the back of the pump where the pressure tube goes into. It could possibly have a groove wore into it. That is what causes the Oring to blow out. If it does use a piece of emery cloth to smooth it out a bit.
