Hi Lincoln, I have a VAC that was used in the US Navy, it has metal plaques on the side panels that the Navy installed with all the tractors identification numbers and specifications stamped on. This tractor has a large amount of yellow on it, it may have been repainted hiway or safety yellow when it was aquired by the Navy. Most likely though, the Navy probably ordered more than one and they were given the yellow paint scheme at the Case factory. I have an industrial IHC tractor, while researching the background of the industrial, I learned that IHC would paint the tractors just about any color the customer wanted as long as the order was fairly substantial, I can only assume that Case would do the same as competition for business was fierce. It is also possible someone has done a repaint in some time over the life the tractor, a lot can happen over a half a century.I purchased my VAC a couple years back for $700.00. It ran poorly, did not have an eagle lift, was missing a few small parts but had like new rear tires, I have no regrets about paying the price I did, it has been a great little tractor, and a lot of fun. You really should consider the cost of buying four new tires when you make an offer, the cost of the tires could be as much or more as what you end up paying for the tractor. Where you live has alot to do with the cost as well. Where old tractors are plentiful, the price seems to be much lower. I live in So California, old farm tractors are not nearly as common as back east, out here any thing old is considerered to be collectable and brings a premium price. My 2cents :), good luck whatever you do..... Tom
