My Case 430 starts and runs fine until its been working for an hour or so (cutting hay) then it acts likes its running out of gas. But after five minutes it will start again. This only happens in summer when working hard. The motor is not overheated. The radiator is fine. Any suggestions?

Hi again, I would also check the gas cap for a restricted vent. If you could run it with the cap loose (without a spill and fire) maybe that would prove helpful...Dennis....

I installed new points, condensor and coil. Still the same problem. I will try the clothes pins on the fuel line, I'm not quite sure is my wooden clothes pins will work any other ideas?

Hi, Wonder if it could be vapor-lock. Try some clothes pins or anything on the fuel line to help take the heat away from the fuel line. Can't hurt to try it.....Dennis.....

My Dad is having the EXACT same problem with the 430 when mowing! Let me know what you find and I will do likewise. Duane

My brother believes that coils are affected by heat. I noticed when I just changed my coil that it is placed very close to the engine rather high up, unlike my Ford 801, where is the coil is open to unheated air. I'll try the gas line first, then I may try moving the coil.
