Could anyone tell me what the proper way to remove the master link from the hydraulic chain (which runs off the PTO shaft)?

Additionally, where could I find a replacement filter element for the hydraulic system? It's cylindrical and hollow and seems to be some fibrous material.

Thanks
Chris Hibbert

The clip on the PTO chain can be pryed off with a pocket knife blade or a screw driver. That's the only way I was taught to do it. Just be careful the knife doesn't snap shut on your fingers. :{) The filter for the hydraulics is a end wound type. It isn't supposed to be replaced. Just wash it out with gas.
