I purchased a 1951 DC-3 last night and it makes my very first tractor purchase. I purchased it directly but it was also listed on Ebay (the link should be down the page somewhere. I got it for $1600.00 which compared to some of the prices I have seen you guys pay is a bit high, but this one has all good sheet metal - has been correctly painted and has a completely rebuilt engine. I am excited to have this tractor as my own - it will be used for bush-hogging my recently purchased land but I'll still keep her pretty.

Take care and thanks to those of you who answered my questions in "Is Case DC-3 for me?" post earlier.

Chris

That is a fair price considering condition. I have a 1950 DC3 and I enjoy that tractor alot. I hope you enjoy yours.

I think you done just fine. I have a VAC that doesn't sound half as nice as your tractor and I paid $1400 for it. Things are definitely higher here in New England than many other places in the center of the country.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Case Owners, Chris. $1,600 isn't too much for a straight, good running DC w/good tires. (In our part of the world, you'll pay +/-$200 ea. for tires & tubes, + mounting.) I'm sure you'll love this great old tractor. Be sure to get an over-running clutch for your bush-hog, as the '51 didn't have LPTO. (You'll need an over-running clutch to keep ya outta the fence.) Have fun w/your new purchase & be careful. Take her to an antique pull, you'll be pleased at what she can do. Keep us posted on your experiences w/her! (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

You got a super deal, rebuilt motor, 3pt, good tires and new paint! The run on clutch is easy to find. Here is one that is listed on ebay. You should be able to run a six foot brush hog with ease.
