I have a 1030

And an 830 com

The 1030 has more power and is heavier and more stable but the 830 is easier and nicer to drive. The com on the 830 makes it perform well above it's rated hp. If you want to pull a 6 bottom plow all day the 1030 is the choice. If your hooking to a stump to pull out the 830 might pull more. The 830 with com is a much better tractor for front end loader work especially and for anything where a power shift is handy as you can drop to com and slow down when needed. The com peddle takes almost no effort where the 9/1030 clutch is not something you want to do a lot if you have poor knees. You would be hard pressed to find a more reliable tractor than either the 830 or 930.
