Long time no post guys but My 41 DC is finally Alive! (only took three years- or was it 4?) she ran for 45 minutes the other day with good temp, amps and oil press.- all is well. So now for the details. How tall should the exhaust stack be? I got a great intake stack thanks to dave at Otto engine works and noticed that in the old brochures it looks like the two pipes are the same height. But wouldn't that just suck warm exhaust ito the air intake? It would seem like the exhaust should go higher or the air intake should be shorter. Any suggestions?
And yes, I'll admit that I'd kind of like to go with a 2" chrome pipe- I know thats not stock but I confess I like the look and that deeper sound... anybody got a source for about a 30"ish tall chrome stack that chokes down to fit a dc elbow?
Thanks as always for everyones help. (I'll try to get a picture posted sometime too when I figure out how.)

If you plan to run a straight pipe you want the top of the pipe at least 6" above your head when you sit in the seat. A bend in the pipe aiming forward helps for noise also. DK

I took the easy way out. Found a new 24 inch muffler and then matched the air stack so the top of the cap was just below muffler height about a inch, had to make a new air pipe anyway.Looks decent enough. Dan in AB
