Well, like I don't have enough going on here at once right now, the old boy with the Crossmotor in Colorado accepted my offer! I didn't think I was even in the running and he called yesterday and said to come get it. I'm gonna wait for Momma to heal up a bit and probably head over next weekend or so. Does anybody know what to look for on one? I've read where you have to check the manifold over close, but I wouldn't know good from bad from indifferent. I haven't found a manual yet, any good leads on one? What was the original carb and magneto on one? How did you start it? If you can't tell, this is the first one of these I've ever been around, but I'm excited about it. What a great tractor for the little girl, huh?

Baggsy, old buddy-

When you need a friend to drive that crossmotor around for you... you know who to call, right?

Is this the "two for one" crossmotor deal that I told you about on Ebay, or is this another tractor you found? If we're talking about Colorado here- I would think the thing to look for would be freeze damage, freeze damage, and, oh yeah- freeze damage. (not in that particular order)

Would love to see photos when you get it. (By the way, did your ol' lady ever get the photos of your SI back with last years' Christmas photos? I still would like to see those, too.)

Hey it just uses a Bosch mag. with impulse just like the later ones. The 12-20 had some adjustable flaps in the manifold to direct the exhaust from all 4 cylinders around the intake. I seen a industrial 12-20 that was a straight gas burner and the manifold was not a complex as the kero. tractor. It just looked like a regular manifold. I say do what you have to do to get it runable. Every book I have seen has said to beware of the manifold, but I am NOT going to leave a tractor to go to rust just because I can't put it back original. I would make a steel manifold before I done that. Let us know how it comes along. I wish I could find me a cross motor, but I want the 40-72. CASEPOWER
