I'm just getting back to putting my VAC together and over the time of the project I have forgotten how the wiring from the generator should be hooked up. The wiring harness is made of two wires, one that hooks up to the amp box on the generator and one which hooks up to generator post. My question is where do these wires connect to? One goes to the amp gage, but which one and where does the other wire go? Thanks guys!

The larger wire goes from the cutout relay (amp box as you call it) to the ammeter. The smaller wire goes from the smaller post on the generator to the light switch which in turn controls the field current, hence the rate of charge. Switch in, low charge, switch out first position, high charge and switch out second position, high charge and lights on. Hope this helps.
