I have a 1975 Trojan loader that has a positive ground 12V system. I had two 12V batteries connected in parallel and had no problems. I've replaced them with two 6V batteries and am having trouble connecting them in series. I can connect the positive ground cable to the positive post of one battery and the negative post to the other battery. But I can't connect the negative cables without terrible sparking. It has an alternator. Anyone have an idea of what I am doing wrong?
Thanks for any replies. (I have a 530 CK so I am not trespassing.)
