Anyone know how much a VAC head can be shaved without running into problems?

Building it for tractor pullin. I want to leave enough meat on the pushrod side of the head so that it won't crack when I torque it down. Valves hittin the pistons would also be a bad thing.

It looks to me like taking off .125 would be plenty safe. Anybody ever tried .250?

Thanks for the comments. I dropped it off at the machine shop today. They looked it over, said they'd take off .080 to start and then see if it looked like they could go more.
