Well,I got my 400 running better. What I ended up doing was putting on a new coil, new plug wires, and new spark plugs. It will still sputter a little whan it is first started, but after it warms up for a few minutes it runs fine. I don't have to run it with the choke pulled out one fourth of the way anymore. So, you fellas that have been haveing trouble with your tractor being cold blooded should look into the ignition system a little.

John, I bought this tractor last spring. It hadn't been run in a long time. I had to do a lot of work on this tractor to get it back into running shape. The point I was trying to bring across was, that not all the problems with a tractor being cold blooded are in the carburetor.
