My Uncle has a 1936 (he thinks) Case C that I want to get running. The tractor has been restored, but has sat a number of years. I'm just wondering where you would check the oil in the crankcase before I try to turn it over? It's probably pretty obvious, but the tractor isn't with me, it's at my parents farm. Thanx for your help guys!!

Before you crank it ,take off the hood and valve cover. Clean and oil the valves, rockers and pushrods. Tap the valves with a hammer to be shute they are not stuck.

I have an original owners manual for an early DC ,39. It instructs that after a tractor sits idle for an extended period that the side covers should be removed , and the cylinder walls saturated with oil to avoid a dry start. may save engine damaged , but I'll bet it don't get done often. mEl

There are two drain plugs on the mag side of the oil pan. The top one is the "FULL" level and the bottom one is the "LOW" level. You add oil through the cap where the governor is located.
