Eagle hitch Question ??

On my 58 case 311 b tractor. I have the eagle hitch on it. On each side where the hitch hooks up. Is a lever with small hole in it. This is for unlocking the hitch to open or lock down.
Right now it is a pain in butty to have to get down and pull each lever up to work with. So my question is? Each has a hole. Must be some kind lever that sticks into these two holes for unlocking at same time? Is there such a thing for the case and if so what does it look like and how would it work for both sides?

So that is what the deal is on it. Been doing it the hard way since I got the tractor. Will certainly do something about this tomorrow when daylight has come and I have had a few cups of coffee down me. Thanks, Learn something new all the time around this place :)

1. The operator releases the Eagle Hitch latches by pulling the latch cords upward.

2. Back the tractor up with draft arms lowered so that the claws just pass under the implement draft pins and so the draft pins contact upper protruding face of each latch, thus opening the latches.

3. Nudge the hydraulic control lever to raise the draft arms until the pins seat in the latch claws. Drive forward a few inches to lock the latches.

Your latch lock springs are probably missing, Roger Hornbaker has those for sale very reasonably.

The latch cord is just looped under the seat within easy reach.

The hole in the lock is for a rope also. Some of the 30 series had a small chain that was used. Do you have the flat spring that holds it in the unlock position until it is hooked? If not they can be very aggrevating to hook up. With the spring it will not lock until you hook to the implement and pull forward to allow the latch to move all the way back. The spring attaches to the bolt just in front of the lock on the top of the arm. If everything is working properly you can hook up to most implements without getting out of the seat unless you have to hook to the pto.

The VA series had a rope from one hole up and through the seat base or someplace similar and down to the other side with a knot at each end so it couldnt pull though the hole, the later rock island tractors had a latch that was a little different however
