Having trouble getting the rear end to go straight on this 2670??
is it the cable rods that are stiff from age or is it in the dash where you control it???

Do the rear wheels go full left and full right when you turn them manually with the lever? If so the problem is possibly the adjustment or condition of the front steering cables.

Unless the cables are broken or badly damaged you should be able to make adjustments.

My front cables were both broken when I bought the tractor and, being too cheap to buy new ones, I patched them up. It took a little trial and error adjusting of the front cables to get the rear wheels aligned half decent. Also, I disassembled the steering mechanism under the dash and cleaned and oiled everything. I also loosened off the big spring the operates the rear steering valve. That made the rear response a little sloppier but lowered the tension on the front cables (to save my splices).

I works now but is not perfect. I figure that when I spring for new front cables (if ever) I'll be able to set it up just right.

Good Day,

JP.

thanks alot for helping me out on this stuff as I was trying to figure out why the back steering was not working right, or was lagging to the left side and not straightening up?
the lever is stiff to the touch and wont move except a little bit if i force it a little bit but i dont wanna hurt it, so I just wanna either adjust it or fix it so it trails right,
