It's all confusing, trying to keep the Case-IH merger or the Case-NH merger straight. In order to make the Case-NH merger go through (anti-trust laws), Case had to sell off the McCormick name along with the "CX" tractor line, and NH had to sell off their Versatile name and 4WD line. The high-HP Magnum tractors are still made in Racine. NH TG tractors are similar, but they have the Super Steer front axles.

Gee folks I thought New Holland mades balers, rakes, and windrowers aren't those blue tractors Fords with their name on them and Case paints red and rebrands. Boy what a tangled mess this has become, not to mention that somewhere in there is a little Alis Chalmers. (<:

Just a question? Didn't Case sell their line of smaller tractors to a company which turned it into the McCormick brand which is sold around the US and I believe they even sell 100+ HP tractors now.

Here's the story I heard, don't know how accurate it is? Case was forced to sell the IH plant in England a couple years after they aquired IH. Had something to do with anti-trust laws??? Anyway another company has taken over the factory and is producing the McCormick tractors.

I think CNH all started in 2000.Use to be anything less than 100 hp is New Holland and Case paints it red, and anything over in Case built and New Holland built with their own design.

There isn't ANY Case or IH heritage in any CaseIH or New Holland tractor except the TG/MX lines that are built in Racine. Puma's and Maxxum's are Basildon, England built New Hollands and the rest are Italian or Turkish built Fiat descendants. The compacts are Shibauras from Japan.
