can anyone help or tell me whether it is just my 255 magnum that is hard to restart once warm and is the same whether i turn it off or if i stall it. seems that i have to wait around 20 minutes before it can be restarted this problem only occurs once it is at operating temperature. i have tried running it down for 5-10 mins before turning off and still wont start just winds over and wont fire. my local dealer tells me this is "normal" but i would like to know if they all do it or is ait a common problem or is there a soulition to it.

Take a bottle of water, normal temperture, and pour on the pump solenoid. If it cranks, then it is the shutoff solenoid in the pump

Hello,
If you have no warning lights or shut down lights on dash then I would say your fuel shut down soleniod is bad it is on the injection pump.It is a two stage coil there is a pull and a hold coil maybe when it gets hot it will not pull.
I don't know what your dealer is talking about that tractor should start all the time every time.
you can check that coil just have someone crank it and watch it, it should make a loud click and pull in as soon as you start cranking the motor.
if there are any shut down lights up on the dash lit when it won't start than that is your problem. That tractor has a shut down system on it. I don't think that would be your problem becouse there is a 30 second delay. the tractor would run for 30 sec and shut down.
Good luck Ed
