I have read alot of postings regarding the sale. I attended. The staff were very courteous. I have heard enough stories about Dean Kruses business ethics, including one from a Canadian gent who wired them money and it mysteriously got lost, even though his bank tracked the transfer to Kruse Int., when informed they would be reported to the officials and they may not be able to do bus. in Canada the money was rapidly found!! So I would be cautious. As for the sale it was amazing one man had so much stuff, it was a must see and I had a ball traveling the sandhills and seeing new territory. I am dissapointed in some that would not go out of stubborness. Luckily many tractors will live to see another day but unfortunately many will go for scrap! I bought one and would like to bought more but I didn't plan ahead and trans. is a big concern. I think it was a screw job with admission, fees, ect. but I looked at the bigger picture, we collectors had alot to gain despite the methods the sale was conducted, their was alot of tractors that needed saving for restoration or parts. I will say for those that would not attend and start complaining about many getting scrapped, you did nothing to prevent it and may have actually accelerated it with bad press so you are welcome to shut up!!! I would not trust Mr. Kruse but I do not regret attending either!! In closing I must say that I was pleased with how friendly everybody was, coversation was never a problem!

I think some people know/heard about Kruse and decided to stick with their own principles and chose not to do business with him.

We locals watched all that scrap go in that yard at about a dollar an item.

Why in the heck would we wanna watch someone haul it off?

Allan

Hey Allen - no comedy allowed!:^) However, the Case board is usually tolerant of a little humor. BTW how is your new disk working out? It is still too wet and cold in Indiana to work ground and/or plant. Looks like you have snow in your part of the country this week.

The 1030 MFWD brought 15000 without the 10% buyers fee and tax. I live 30 miles from the sale and knew Gary.

I wanted to know what it brought, too! I wrote down a ton of prices, but didn't get near all of them...

Here are some pics I took of it:

You said it perfectly. With all the negative words said I was a little apprehensive about going. HOWEVER I am glad I went. From the the tents going back to the scraped combines, walking on to the hill, it was like seeing the promise land all the tractors lined up they way the where. I found the Kruse brother was very annoying to listen to and Dean himself, they where to loud. Jimmy the guy in the cowboy hat did an excellent job. I was talking to one guy bidding on JD 720D, they where trying for 1000 and he was the first bidder and all of a sudden the bidding was at 3000. You had to pay attention but man what an opportunity to see all the tractors and to met people and talk to them in line waiting to load. We came home with a 720 JD LP and 1600 pounds of suitcase weights. Don"t regret going but would be surprised if I go to a Kruse auction again.

Kind of funny for all the negative feed on this website everyone is sure excited to find out what stuff went for when only a half dozen people said they where going.

I agree with you, Doug... I didn't like Kruse per se - the extra fees, attitude of some of the auctioneers (I saw them screw one guy out of the Massey Harris sign), etc, but mostly the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Plus, the loud Kruse brother could auction like no one I've ever heard before!! He was like listening to a tornado - I don't know how he could keep it up so loud, long, and fast for hour after hour. Pretty amazing!

I also enjoyed very much seeing all the equipment and meeting folks from all over the world. Gordon (the Oliver fellow from Canada) must have been telling everyone about his money wire problems with them, because he told me the same story!! :)

But, I also was fairly disheartened by the number of Minnies that were bought up by a scrapper... Plus, most of the parts tractors on Wednesday are going to be melted... :(

Howard
