On this thresher, there are oil lubricated bearings at the top of the clean grain elevator. There are pockets around the oil holes. Should these be filled with some material to absorb the oil and keep out dirt? If so, what? I am trying strips of old tee shirt. Is something else better?

You can pick up these manuals reasonable on Ebay or at shows were they sell literature I am only showing you one page out of a book and I would suggest that there are many more pages than this dediticated to explaining the proper care of your machine, on the bottom of the manual it states Form 5105 5M 5-36 Instructions for setting up, Operating and Care of the Case Grain Thresher this book is from 1936 and should cover your model there maybe others available but look for a later dated manual for your machine, however all the other devices are the same for most machines
