Need long tie-rod. I have searched for several weeks with no luck. Mine is 18 inches long with 8 adjusting notches in it. Yhe axle is adjustable from 48 inches to 73 inches. I am restoring it and need to replace the tie-rod because it is about to fall apart. Here is a pic of my progress so far!! Please help me!!!! Thanks in advance, Chris

Does your tie rods run across the front of tractor from wheel to wheel. If so you might be able to use one from a 300 or 400 series tractor.
Next question.. is it the hole tie rod or just the end with ball joint? If that is so just replace the tie rod end. Also check with caseih.com follow threw to parts on case tractors. Will show diagrams and all there!
When going there you have to pick what region and it moves to next showing for you.

Larry, my 630 has the same set up as this 530. There are two tire rod assemblies that run from the steering gear bracket (bell crank) under the steering mechansim to the left and right spindles on these tractors. Each of these had a ball joint on each end much like a car with LH/RH threads to adjust toe in. Also both inner tire rods have as is stated, an 18.000 ball jpint with adjusting grooves. The only way to replace this is with a new one OR as stated below cut the old ball joint off and have a machine shop weld on a new auto ball joint and machine the weld down to look unmolested. I believe I was looking at these a couple of months ago and I want to say they were retired parts.

Looks like you are doing a great job on the old girl!! It has been a few yrs since I bought one, but had no trouble getting it from Case at that time. If it is now on the NLA list, there is a company in Wisconsin that buys most of the slow moving, discontinued parts inventory from Case (and others) and resells them. Case dealers have access to them (it is not part of CNH however). Failing all else, a good machine shop can chop the old ball joint off your existing tie rod and replace it w/ a similar balljoint obtained from an auto parts store.
