I have a David Brown Case 990 Implematic from early 1965 with the screw type three way external control valve on the operators left side. To operate the loader, the center valve is closed, this locks the 3 pt hitch height. The right valve is opened which allows flow to the loader (as long as the lift height control lever is all the way up or the lift height control cable is disconnected). Return from the loader is thru an after market filter and into the filler plug in front of the transmission shift levers. I use 90 weight gear oil based on the 48 pg 1964 instruction book I got from the case dealer. It is a bit of a pain to open and close these two valves to switch between the loader and 3 pt hitch.

My question, Is there a better way to plumb the hydraulics. Previous posts mention a power beyond plate and also mentioned the return should not go into the transmission filler. It is not clear to me if that is applicable to my early Implematic tractor. Where should the return oil go? Any suggestions are appreciated

Find Elmer Landman here on the YT pages. He sells power beyond plates for your tractor that will solve a lot of these issues
