Has anyone out there experienced trouble with these 8V batteries not holding a charge?
I've bought 4 of them and have had to return 3 of them for this reason. Napa is very good about the exchange.

Would there be another manufacturer of 8V batteries? I was told by one dealer that JD does not make one. The ones I've been getting are manufactued in Texas.

Thanks for any help. Dave

My Dad ALWAYS ran 8V batteries in everything we had. The catch is you absolutely MUST tweak your VR up to charge at about 9V or a generator output below 8v will only charge to what it is set at and it will appear that your battery is always under charged or run down.

12V alternators for todays cars and trucks are regulated at about 13.6V to keep the 12V battery charged.

A 6-volt generator won't fully charge one unless you set the output up by adjusting the voltage regulator.
