Is there supposed to be a strip of webbing under the tie down straps on the gas tank? If so, what color and where would be the best place to get it?

Under the strap, between the strap and the top of the tank? I'd been told there were pieces of canvas webbing under the tank, between the bottom of the tank and the support brackets, but I've never heard of, or seen in any photos, straps on top of the tank.

I was asking about all the way around. Reason I ask is that I just pulled the tank off and there was more than enough to go across the bottom. There was almost enough (in 1 of the 2 pieces) to go all the way around. I looked at pictures (in the photo section) but none were big enough to see if there was any webbing there. Thanks for answering my question.

Yes most parts stores have it. they are pretty much all the same color and painted on the edge when the tractor was painted.
