Hello; I have an old W10 loader with a bad 401D engine. I know that an A377 gas engine will fit but have been unable to locate one. I plan on running it on propane mainly because of limited usage so that I don"t have to throw out bad fuel when I need to use it. The 401 had a lot of water damage to cylinders and heads and the cost is something I can"t justify. Would anyone know what applications used the A377 or is there another make engine that would be a good candidate? The rest of the machine is in good condition as it was always covered it just happened that the method of covering lent to the water in the engine problem. I appreciate any advice.

Measure up the bolt pattern on your 401. They came 2 ways. The chain drive tractors were different than the gear drive tractors. If you have the chain drive bolt pattern you are stuck looking for the engine from a big 500, big 600, 900, or 930, all chain drives. DK
