My dad has been using Dextron ATF in his 800 puller for years with good results

I use hy-tran in my 1570,830hyds. but I run CASE tch in the case-o-matic just for safe sake though 303 JD/universal trans-draulic should be ok

Hoss;
I pulled my 700 diesel for several years. I was able to run the engine at 3200 RPM with 32 degree timing. Stock is about 24 degrees. This is a 267 engine with 284 M&W kit
The tractor in now back in the working category and the timing is still the same and has worked this way for over 25 years at a more reasonable 2200 RPM...

Don't understand RETARD timing. Try this;with engine idling slowly ADVANCE timing and notice increase in RPM. Rule of thumb; book timing is at sea level and 70 degrees air temp, advance 2 degrees over book per 1000 feet elevation. Burn Aviation premium, and if you can dyno play with ADVANCE for max HP. I use HY-TRAN in the tranny and hydraulics. GOOD LUCK!

I would not recommend aviation gas for your Diesel engine! The advice to advance the pump timing will help the HP at higher rpm levels. It would be helpful to tune it on a dyno if you can rent one nearby for an hour
